Promo post - Soul Struck - Jacob Florez

The Magical Elements—Spirit

Hello, everyone! My name is Jacob Z. Flores, and I’m happy to be here today on the final day of my promotional tour for my latest release Soul Struck, the third book of my Warlock Brothers of Havenbridge series, which follows the lives of three magical brothers, Mason, Thad, and Pierce Blackmoor.

The brothers have stumbled upon a dark conspiracy that threatens their world, the magical community, and their lives. In the first two books, Mason and Thad started us on our journey for answers as well as found love on their journey. For the third book, the oldest brother, Pierce, takes over as our narrator and closes out the first story arc of the series. Like his brothers, Pierce also meets a very special someone who challenges the way he sees the world.

By now, many of you are already familiar with some basic facts about magic in the Warlock Brothers of Havenbridge series. For those of you who don’t, here’s a quick recap.

In my fictional world of Havenbridge, magic is powered by five mystical elements—earth, fire, air, water, and spirit. These elements not only form the foundation of life but are the framework of all that is considered paranormal. All magical creatures from warlocks, wizards, and witches to the vampyren, fae, and shifters tap into some aspect of one or more of these elements.

Over the past few months, I have written a series of blog posts, explaining earth, fire, air, and water. You can find that information by clicking click here, here, here, and here.

Today, however, I’m going to be talking about the fifth and most powerful of the five elements—spirit (also knows as the ether or the universe).

Unlike the other four elements that appear as physical manifestations in our world, spirit exists in everything and cannot be identified. It is considered the force that binds all elements together, which is why it is considered the mother element. From spirit came earth, fire, air, and water. This means the spirit element resides within all life and connects all of us to each other and to the natural world around us.

Because we are all connected through spirit, this element is also considered a magical collective unconscious and houses all information from the past, present, and future. This makes the spirit element a truly formidable force that is both receptive and projective. Magic powered through spirit is connected to the soul of the caster. Since the element thrives on balance, it only manifests within extremely rare souls capable of handling the power.

Those who are lucky enough to find their magic powered by spirit tend to be evenhanded and extremely logical, which is why the gray magic of wizards is fueled by this element. Their fair-minded temperaments make them ideal hosts for the power of the spirit. However, others in the magical community have been known to tap into this element as well. Those instances are extremely rare and most often only occur within the protector covens, who are considered the most powerful magical beings in the world.

Like the electricity he commands, Pierce Blackmoor streaks through life on raw power and pure sexual energy. His conquests on the battlefield and in the bedroom form his foundation, but that bedrock crumbles when his younger brothers’ abilities surpass his own. Pierce finds himself at an all-time low, and clawing his way back to the top becomes his only concern.

Pierce's plan to reassert his dominance, however, takes a backseat when he wounds Kale Aquilo, an emissary of the Beast King, lord of all shifters.

Kale’s beguiling nature shoots like a lightning bolt straight to Pierce’s soul, and when the soft-spoken Kale relays that a virus is killing his people, Pierce abandons his quest for power to do something he has never done before—protect someone other than himself.

As Kale, Pierce, and his brothers struggle to find the root of the magical virus spreading plague across Aeaea, the shifter island, they face a gauntlet of old and new foes. Soul struck, Pierce and Kale must uncover the truth behind the conspiracy gathering in the shadows.

Jacob Z. Flores lives a double life. During the day, he is a respected college English professor and mid-level administrator. At night and during his summer vacation, he loosens the tie and tosses aside the trendy sports coat to write man on man fiction, where the hard ass assessor of freshmen level composition turns his attention to the firm posteriors and other rigid appendages of the characters in his fictional world.

Summers in Provincetown, Massachusetts, provide Jacob with inspiration for his fiction. The abundance of barely clothed man flesh and daily debauchery stimulates his personal muse.

When he isn’t stroking the keyboard, Jacob spends time with his daughter. They both represent a bright blue blip in an otherwise predominantly red swath in south Texas.

Solid by Jettie Woodruff

A Twin Duo Novella

Jettie Woodruff

Sometimes you just have to let go of rock bottom, catch the bricks being thrown at you, and build your own foundation. Solid is built on trust, not lies and deceit, and sometimes you have to stop waiting for someone else to build it, and do it yourself.

If happiness is the end result, if it’s that single want that matters, if we had to through that to get here, I’d do it all over again. If it’s the love that matters, then why does it matter how we got there? We were the perfect storm of two kinds of crazy.

Suit (The Twin Duo #1)

When my sister, Isabella showed up, just ahead of a tropical storm, nostalgia and a need to reconnect took us on a ride…directly into the eye of a different kind of disaster. I woke from a coma unaware that I even had a twin, and married to a man with two little girls. Although I fell madly in love with the children that I didn’t remember, I didn’t feel like I belonged with Paxton Pierce. I couldn’t be who he wanted me to be no matter how hard I tried. But things aren’t always as they seem. I fought my own demons, trying not to be the submissive he required me to be, yet I craved it like a drug. I wanted him.
Once upon a time I was an identical twin.
And then I wasn’t.

I thought losing my memory was the worst thing in the world. Forgetting who you are, and where you came from was like driving on a road with only right turns. All leading in the same direction. A direction I wanted to avoid, a dark tunnel that I had to enter if I ever wanted answers.
Losing my memory wasn’t the worst thing in the world. Learning, who I was, and the secrets I had kept was way worse. The unbearable pull and the passion we shared, mixed with the past that I didn’t want to remember, created a whole new storm. The perfect storm of two kinds of crazy. Stupid little fish.

My name is Jettie Woodruff. I live in Ohio, but I don’t know why. I hate winter, and it’s right around the corner. I don't know what genre I write in. People tell me I have my own category. I write whatever is coming to me at the moment. I probably have like, six different novels started, all waiting to be told. The one that gets to thirty thousand first is my next release. Slut will release probably mid-November, and then I have something I am going to try under a pin-name.
Some of my favorite things are, first and foremost my family, reading, writing, bike riding, hiking, BOOK SIGNINGS, my friends, and life!
I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I'm out of control, and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.”

★☆★☆COVER RE-REVEAL★☆★☆ - Game On by Kyra Lennon

Game On by Kyra Lennon
A note from Kyra: Game On was first published in 2012. In its time, it has been through a heck of a lot of covers, but this is definitely the final one! The reason for this particular change is that back in July this year, the rather beautiful Scott King did a photo shoot for me with the equally stunning Lucy Laming – shot by super snapper Eric Battershell. The chosen photo of Scott and Lucy will be on the cover of the final Game On book – due for release next year. Since Scott King is the perfect Radleigh McCoy, I figured it made sense to have him on the cover for Book One to match! ALSO, the book itself has undergone a bit of a change. There have been a few updates made to the book’s content – and this includes no longer cutting away from the bedroom scenes. It was a mistake I have berated myself for ever since publication that I didn’t include a sex scene. The nature of Leah and Radleigh’s relationship almost demands the bedroom scene to be written in full. I feel like without it, I haven’t been true to the overall tone of passion in the pages of the rest of the story. These updates, and the cover, will be live before Christmas. If you have already bought a copy of Game On – I am hoping with everything I have that Amazon will be kind enough to give you a little update button on your accounts so you can re-download. If not, I will find a way around the issue somehow! The paperback version of Game On will be updated also, but will take a little longer due to needing to order proof copies, etc, as will the audiobook, but that will take quite a while longer as it depends on my narrator's availability. Please keep an eye on my Facebook page for further updates! Thank you! GameOn8 Title: Game On (Game On Series #1) Author: Kyra Lennon Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance Cover Models: Scott King and Nadine Hart Blurb: After swapping her small town life to work for one of the top soccer teams in the U.S, Leah Walker thought she could finally leave the ghosts of her past behind. The only cloud on her horizon is soccer superstar, Radleigh McCoy. He’s arrogant, sexy - the epitome of everything Leah used to crave in a man. But Leah is not that person anymore. After getting her heart trampled on, she knows the damage caused by guys who only have one thing on their mind. She’s determined never to go through it again, but when McCoy makes scoring with Leah his new goal, they become locked in a heated battle of wills which threatens everything she’s built for herself. As circumstances throw them together, the chemistry between them becomes harder to ignore, and Leah is forced to ask herself whether she has really changed at all.
