wow what can i say, who thought when i started the page a year ago i would now have nearly 4500 likes, wow i didnt even expect 100 likes,  i only started the page for fun so that i could share my favorite books with you all,  I had just been chatting to Terri Marie and we were talking about what we would take to a desert island and she asked her "lovelies" what we would all take,  thats where i got the name Island Lovelies from, What goes on, on the island stays on the island that was the motto!! at the time i was a mega fan of Melody Anne and any chance i could get to share her books i would and i was so pleased when she offered a signed book to my very first giveaway.  Thank you Mel you have always supported us,  When i asked Alicia to join me on island lovelies it was because when i talked to her on Melody's Page all she talked about was Chaining her book boyfriends to the bed, She was loud, Funny, everyone took notice of what she was saying and when she agreed to help me out i was ecstatic,  we started the blog and authors started asking if we could read and review,  you wont believe how excited i was that i got to read a book and not pay for it haha.  soon we were getting asked more and more to review and before we knew it we were at 665 likes,  i refused to come back to the page until the dreaded 666 had been passed lol When Emma joined we had so much fun the three of us bouncing off each other we were best friends and i loved them both and when emma decided she wanted to concentrate on writing her book (remember we get exclusives sweaty flange) we were happy to support her.  we then took on Brittany, what a sweetheart she is one of the nicest people i know and i love that she is part of our team, well before we knew it we had passed 2000 likes and were heading for 3000 so we decided we needed another person to help us out, well that person turned into Jessica, Amanda and Jennifer.  all the girls were amazing and each brought something different, even though amanda and jennifer have now started their own blog i'm so glad they were with us,  and Jessica is so funny she comes out with some hilarious stuff usually when i least expect it.  Now this is a massive THANK YOU for all the support you have shown us,  each and every like you are all amazing,  heres onto the next 4000 likes xxx Natalie xxx

One whole year already? I can't believe it. I honestly am shocked that over 4000 people have liked ILBC. Anyone who knows me knows I'm loud and love to read. I remember finding Maid for the Billionaire by Ruth Cardello on amazon and deciding to give it a read. I fell in love with Ruth's book and in the back I found The Billionaire Wins The Game by Melody Anne and Bluegrass State of Mind by Kathleen Brooks. These fabulous books led me to meet Natalie. We shared a passion of reading and loved the same authors and books.  I'll be honest, I didn't really know Natalie before she asked me to join her. We'd spoken but she was always a little shy. That didn't last long. Soon she wouldn't shut up (lol ;) only joking) I realised she's just like me and we hit it off right away. She's like a sister now! I have had some of the best laughs with her.
We're both from England and decided we wanted to be 'Pinky and the Brain' We was going to take over the world!! LOL
No seriously as the page started to grow we realised we needed help. Natalie found Emma and she fit right in. Emma is from Australia so when me and Nat would be getting ready for bed (midnight) Em would just be starting her day. My husband got woke up plenty of times from the laugh out loud moments with these ladies. I would literally have tears streaming from laughing so hard.
B joined and slot straight in too. The giggle-fests started and soon i had a group of sisters from other misters. Brittany is so sweet. I could talk to her for hours.
Emma not only shares a passion of reading but has a dream that she's now following. She's writing her own book and I cannot wait to purchase the first copy of her story. I know it will be amazing. EXCLUSIVE excepts to us Em! :D I can't wait to see you at #1 on the NYT best sellers babe!
Soon there were three! Brittany gave us order. Helped get things organised, she truly is amazing.
When Amanda, Jessica and Jennifer joined the page Island Lovelies was starting to get a name. Soon we had postings at all times of the day and more likes coming in. I was finding more and more great books thanks to these fab ladies.
Blogging for me is all about expressing my emotions from books. It's a way to share my opinion but it's also to promote the books I love. i never once thought I'd find a bunch of girls I love from loving books.
2013 was the best year ever. I've had a blast and had to upgrade my home to fit all these chained book boyfriends.
Thank you to all our supporters. Without you, Island Lovelies would be nothing and without you I wouldn't have met these women!
Here's to 2014 being as good as 2013 was!! <3 Alicia
