Some stories aren’t easy to tell.
Some situations aren’t easy to relive.
But I was raised to be strong—to hold my own. Because of it, I was hurt, torn down, beaten and even had my heart snatched right out of my chest.
But I’m ready now. It’s time for me to speak up. You want to know what really goes on inside my head, well I’m right here.
Real. Raw. Intense.
This is all me. Roy Sykes. This is my story, and trust me… its far from pretty.
Oh man where do I start, hmmmm Roy, I think I may have fallen I love with a man named Roy and he is many shades of Effed Up, I completely love this series I love the entire band members of FireNine and wouldn't say no to any of them lol Gage was always my favorite, WAS being the main word there because now let me introduce you to my new book boyfriend his name is Roy!! Hi my name is Natalie and I'm a Royaholic.
The book starts in present day with Roy who has fallen in love with Kelsi, she has convinced him to do a interview and tell his story, people have the wrong impression of him, fans are starting to feel he isn't interested in them which couldn't be further from the truth, events from Roy's past make him guarded and he would rather lurk in the background playing his music than be the star of the show, he has his boys and he has kelsi and that's enough for him
So here is Roy's story....
Roy's life has been eventful his mum is sick and he needs to find a way to support her and pay for her healthcare, so he does some stuff he isn't proud of but it's the only option he has at the time, it's here he meets Rosemary, for him she is the most beautiful person he has ever seen and knows she is different, but why would she look twice at him, a guy from the wrong side of town covered in tatoos, to Roy's surprise rose agrees to go on a date with him, he knows he has to do things different with her and so he tries to be a better man.
What happens next is exciting, Roy's life changes in ways he never expects he is in so deep he can't seem to find a way out, the only light in his dark life is rose, she makes him want to be the better man, but when you have people around you who are determined to bring you down, it's extremely hard not to just sit back and take it....
This book was fantastic, I couldn't reccomend it more and if like me you love the FireNine boys you will love the third book in the series.
I only have one tinest thing that I thought would have improved the story and that's at the beginning when Roy is about to start his story it would have been better if we see him go into the press office and say I'm Roy Sykes and this is my story.... Lol well that's my opinion everyone else will probably say ER what the eff are you on about haha
This series is one of my favorites, I get bubbles in my belly when I know there will be a new book coming..... bring on Montana
I give this book a MASSIVE FIVE STARS it is fantastic
Roy, woah... Roy. What can I say? You have just smashed me. Tore me up. Ripped me to pieces. Made me so sad for you. Made me hurt for you. Made me hate you a little. Made me want o punch you.. Hard! But all the time you made me fall in love with you.
I love me a messed up broken book boyfriend but I'm telling you now, Roy life has not been flowers and rainbows it's been broken and a crap storm. Yep, that crap just kept pouring into his life.
I tell you now, I don't think I've cried so many times during a book. I was even crying at happy times just because the emotions in this book are raw. If you don't feel them emotions then you must be a robot. There is no other explanation if you don't cry whilst reading Roy's story.
There is so much heartbreaking, heart shattering events that has taken place in Roy's life that I literally felt like it was cutting me. Deep. The deepest of deep shreds to my heart.
There is so many loved up moments that gave me butterflies in my stomach and made me weak at the knees. There is also a few moments where I wanted to smash his face in. Really. If he was real and I could have got my hands on him whilst reading certain parts I know for sure he would have been getting a kick to the balls!
The Highs and lows of this story have blown me away. I loved the first two books but Roy just surpassed Gage's story for me. He is fooking delicious.
Who I am deserves so much more than 5 stars. I was rendered speechless at times and let's be fair, that doesn't happen often, if at all!
5 emotional stars baby!
Without another second to waste, I open the door and hop out. Loads of screams fill my eardrums, and I fight a smile. I guess, after a while, it feels good to be wanted. To be appreciated. I can’t ask for more enthusiastic fans.
Deed climbs out with his so-called “lucky drumsticks” in hand and waves at the wild girls behind the ropes. They holler at the top of their lungs, clambering over each other, wailing, and stretching their arms for a feel of us as we walk by.
“Roy, you’re so fucking hot! I love you!” one girl says. I don’t know who says it, and I don’t bother looking to find out.
“Deed! Let me have you!” That one isn’t for me, so I keep chugging.
“Roy! Please! Let me touch your hair!” Okay. I admit that one makes me laugh, but again, I don’t look.
“Roy Sykes… remember me?” For some reason, that calm, familiar voice catches my attention. I jerk my gaze up, and as soon as I meet the sky blue eyes I never thought I’d see again, I stop dead in my tracks. The girls continue to holler and reach for me, but I’m in the middle of the runway, shocked… stunned.
She looks the same—actually better. Her hair is longer, her face still flawless. She’s wearing a shimmery silver dress, revealing her long, creamy legs, with heels to match, and seeing her like this—hotter than ever before—leaves me completely speechless.
Taking one last step forward, close enough to see her clearly among the thick crowd, I part my lips, a part of me not wanting to say her name ever again, but a part of me yearning to roll it off my tongue. “Rose?” I murmur.
I’m sure she can’t hear me over the screaming, but I know she’s read my lips because she looks from them to my eyes and nods. “Yes,” she says, thrilled. “It’s me, Roy. Rosemarie Beretta.”
