Beat Of The Heart by Katie Ashley

Beat of the Heart (Runaway Train #2)
by Katie Ashley
After years of bad relationships and a cheating ex-fiancé, twenty-eight-year-old Mia Martinelli prefers healing her patients’ hearts on the Cardiac Care floor rather than risking having her heart broken again. But that all comes to a screeching halt when caring for the head roadie for Runaway Train puts her into the orbit of drummer and Latin Lover, AJ Resendiz. After a scorching weekend of steamy passion, Mia’s intention of getting out with her heart unscathed is challenged by the stud with the wicked sense of humor, especially when he wants to continue seeing her. But when the harsh reality of AJ’s hoard of female admirers sends her insecurities into overdrive, Mia bails, leaving him handcuffed to his bathroom shower.

AJ never imagined that after two weeks of the best sex and female companionship he’d ever experienced, he would need rescued by his band mates from his shower prison. Although he tries to forget the sensual brunette whose curves made his mouth water, AJ can’t get her out of his mind…or his heart. Months later when he finally seeks Mia for answers as to why she left, nothing could prepare him for their life-altering reunion.

Can AJ prove to Mia that regardless of the women after his body, his heart belongs only to her?

Alicia's review:

Oh Em Gee. It's books is AMAZEBALLS!! It's so beautifully written that I was hooked from page one.

We all know Aj from Jake and Abby's story but we get him full force in Beat Of The Heart. Runaway Train's band manager/dad role model, Frank has heart problems and has to have a heart bypass. This puts him in hospital for a while.... Enter Mia.

Mia is a cardiac nurse whom also happens to be caring for Frank. When she pops in to do her checks on Frank he has visitors. Aj and Rys are visiting with him. They decided it was a good idea to bring him his favourite greasy food. Not the wisest idea for someone whose just had a heart bypass.

Mia throws the food in the trash along with his orange drink. The drink bounces off the bin and explodes straight into Aj's lap. Without thinking, Mia starts to rub him down with napkins.... Yep, straight on his manmeat!

AJ can't believe what's happening. A beautiful nurse is rubbing him down in front of Rys and Frank. He lets Mia know the effect she's having on him which results on her using a great bit of sass towards him. AJ is hooked. He wants Mia bad. He starts the chase...

Mia starts to run...! Mia has had a bad history with relationships so its no wonder she runs. She can't trust herself not to get hurt again so when AJ offers her a solution to getting back out into the dating world, Mia has to accept.

The steam is this book is great. It's just the right amount of heat to make it beautiful. AJ sure knows how to please his women!

I loved the connection you feel between AJ and Mia and the love they share.

This book is easily 5 stars!!

Natalie's Review

Oh my god i have massively fallen in love with AJ, that man is sex on legs. As much as I loved the first book in the series I absolutely adored this one, Mia and AJ together are perfect except events from her past me ants that when things get tough Mia runs.

AJ doesn't mind her running because he loves the thrill of the chase however, how many times can yo chase someone when even when you catch them they are refusing to stay still.

How the story develops is fab, I love that we see all the characters from the first book and how each one has a different impact to the story.

The book is developed really well and there are tough subjects that are featured that I thought were handled extremely well

I give this book a scorching 5 stars
