About The Book
Can she overcome her consuming desire for him? Can he make her comfortable with the other C-word…commitment?
Marley Mason is dreading the arrival of the new business consultant. After all, this man will most likely outsource her job to China. The last thing she would expect is a case of mistaken identity, leading to false accusations of kidnapping when she attempts to pick up the wrong man at the airport, or worse…that she would have such a visceral reaction to the right man.
Rick Randy is super sexy, scandalously flirty, and perfect masturbation material, but a relationship is out of the question. Rick is contracted on a temporary basis to fix Marley’s ailing company, and then pull out, although as he expresses to Marley, pulling out is difficult for him, in more ways than one! Marley’s feelings range from utter confusion to intense contemplation as Rick charms his way into her life. All of those C-words Marley can control, but it’s the other C-word she fears—commitment.
This book was one that I really enjoyed. I actually liked it much more than I had expected to. I found myself smiling most of the time with the banter between Rick and Marley. It was very flirtatious and fun for that matter. The author wrote a book about two people who had to work together but with a timeline of only four months, and with such a time line it seemed that there could be no relationship since they were from different states. Not only the distance, but Marley had refused to ever have a relationship with any man. She did not do Commitment at all!
Now, did I mention Rick is amazing to look at, funny, great in the bed, and a complete gentleman. What woman couldn't love him! This book is very steamy with the desire the two feel for one another and will leave you wanting more. I find myself very sad that the book ended so soon but couldn't have asked for a better ending.
We are left with an ending that shows every character in this story moving forward in their lives and for the better. This was a Clever story, very Charismatic, and Captivating! There is of course some angst and very sad parts within this book. Marley has some secrets that haunt her and the reasons behind this is due to pain she has been through in her life. She has her family who has always been there for her but the Clarity she has in the end that she doesn't have to be alone is heartwarming.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and hope others will as much as I did. I would highly recommend this book to others! It's a great read!
“I want to kiss you again. I don’t want to wait on that.” He barely had the car in park before he placed his hands on either side of my face and drew me close to him. His lips felt like velvety pillows. The kiss was softer, slower, but no less passionate than our first kiss. He coaxed his way into my mouth. He explored with a profound depth while he caressed my face and neck with his fingertips. He worked his way down my jawline to my neck, punctuating each progression with soft, wet kisses. He pulled away, but continued stroking my hair with his fingers, staring at me intently. The sounds of our rapid breathing permeated the air. “Don’t masturbate.” The words were the most shocking I’d ever heard.
My hand shot up and struck his face in a hasty reaction to the command. I slapped Rick. I didn’t slap him for the kiss. I loved the kiss. I smacked him for telling me not to masturbate. Surely, he wasn’t taking away my only form of relief.
He rubbed his check and I immediately felt guilty. “I can’t believe you slapped me. Are you into some S&M shit I need to know about?”
“No…sorry, but are you fucking crazy? First you tell me we have to wait until the results, then you kiss me like that and now you’re saying don’t masturbate?”
He grinned impishly and pulled me towards him again. “I won’t either. When I finally fuck you, it’ll be worth it. It will make everything so much more…epic. Do you know what I mean?”
“No,” I replied, pouting.
Author Bio – MK Schiller
This is my debut novel, and I’m thrilled to share it with you. I describe myself as a hopeless romantic in a hopelessly pragmatic world. By day, I don a magic cape, calculator (sometimes an abacus), and an assortment of gel pens for my work in the world of finance. But by night, I sit by the warm glow of my computer monitor, and think of stories that will warm the heart, and cheer the soul.
There is nothing better than the intimate journey and ultimate satisfaction that only a swoon-worthy romance can provide, especially if there are a few laughs along the way. Although writing is my passion, I am a reader first and enjoy nothing more than curling up with a good book and some tasty Italian (the food, of course!). I hope you will enjoy my work and please drop me a line. I’d love to hear from you.
