Forgiven - Rebecca Brooke

What happens when one moment changes the course of your entire life? Do you sit back and accept it, or fight to live the life you choose? Caleb Jacobs has a past that has haunted him for two years. Knowing he can never forgive himself for the events that led to his departure, Caleb chooses to live a quiet life—concentrating on school, sports, and shots. But when he is paired with Angie for a history project he realizes that no matter how much you try to hide from your past, one way or another it will find you.

Angelina Powers knows what she wants from life. Growing up with only an alcoholic father for company, Angie learned early on in life that you can only count on yourself. But that doesn’t stop her wishing for her white knight. She’s confident, happy and focused…until she meets Caleb. So how will she feel when her potential white knight turns out to be more of a black shadow?

Brittany's Review

4 Really Good Stars!!
I really enjoyed reading this book. It's a very good love story between two people who each have a past they are trying to escape from. They must come to trust one another and trust themselves in opening up to the other. The thing I loved most about this book, is that it has secrets and we don't discover them until closer towards the end of the book. It keeps us readers wanting more, wanting to find out just what happened to Caleb in his past and to not want to put down the book. In my opinion, a book that is hard to put down, is a great book!!
Caleb Jacobs has been trying to escape the haunting memories from two years ago. He has found a place in his life where things seem to be dull but that is until he is assigned to work with Angelina Powers on a history project and he takes one look into those deep brown eyes of hers that his world is thrown back into his past. Can Caleb let go of the past and move forward with Angie?
Angelina (Angie) Powers lives her life day by day trying to not become every awful name her father has ever called her. She had to live with the verbal abuse all of her life and wants for a man to want to save her. She focuses on school, and living her life with her best friend Emily. Suddenly though, she is thrown into the partnership with Caleb and there is no denying the electricity between then but he happens to be a complete asshole to her and making her life just that much more complicated.
Will these two be able to make it through a project together and see how great they are together!!
This book ends with a happy ending which I really enjoyed. Some characters really deserve the happy ending and this is one of those books that works for. I look forward to reading more by Rebecca Brooke and definitely would recommend this book to other readers. Hope everyone enjoys reading this story as much as I did!
