Blog Tour: Juilliard or Else

Juilliard or Else by Nichele Reese

This is a twisting story of young love torn in two.

Abigail McCall has been accepted into Juilliard for Ballet. Being nineteen, she’s ready to move out of her tight shell at her parent’s house and in with her new roommates. Abigail finds herself distracted with things she never saw herself doing.

'Hey, I’m Tucker.
That’s all it took. His own name rolling off his tongue.'

With no job and coming from a broken home with a mother who doesn’t care what happens to him, could you blame Tucker for being so secretive? The dark and mysterious Tucker has his sights set on the prim and proper ballerina. So he knows he has to change his self-destructive ways in order to keep Abigail in his life. This means, betraying his closest friends.

Obstacles are thrown at them.
They don’t approve of the ballerina and the poor boy.

The world won’t let Abigail and Tucker be together. What do they have to sacrifice to stay together...

Can the good come out in the bad? Or does someone always end up hurt and alone?

Tucker has nothing, but Abigail has everything to lose...

New Adult Novel. Contains adult situations, sexuality, some violence, and is suited for ages 18 and up.

Alicia's Review:

Nineteen year old Abigail Macall, known as Gabs leaves home to follow her dreams. She's been accepted into Juilliard to do Ballet. Gabs hasn't really got any friends and quickly becomes very good friends with Rachel and Jade, her roommates. Just as she's leaving home she finds out a secret that changes her life, putting strain on her relationship with her mother and father.

Kyle Tucker, better known as Tucker has a hard life. His father left him and his mother when he was young and now Tucker has to do everything he can to take care of himself and his drug addict mother. They live in Bushwick, Brooklyn which is a very dangerous neighbourhood. His dream to be become a tattoo artist without having to all the other 'deals' in his life.

Gabs, Rachel and Jade go out to grab some coffee where they meet Tucker and his friends. They all hit it off straight away, enjoying a few games of pool. The instant connection for the group is brilliant. Soon the guys are pulled away with a 'job'. I love Rachel and Jade. They're so different but everything Gabs needs.

Tucker and Abigail fast become something special but not without Abigail getting a warning to stay away from Tucker by a strange man. Warning bells? I'd say not. I was rooting for Tucker from the get go.

Carol, Abigail's mum is set on making sure she controls everything Abigail does with threats of removing her from Juilliard. I didn't like Carol from point go. She thinks she's doing right by Gabs but in actual fact, she's just pushing her away.

Alex Blair is a lawyer at Abigail's fathers law firm and is fast making his way to become a partner. He's handsome, charming and successful. Everything Gab's mum believes Abigail needs. Carol tries at every turn to push them together but Abigail is having none of it. She's happy with Tucker... so was I lol.

This book deals with everyday issues and thats what I loved the most. There is angst, happiness, sadness, joy, love, hate and everything inbetween. You'll read about adoption, drugs, bulimia, self-harm, depression, pregnancy and death.

I found myself laughing out loud, squealing, shocked, crying and even shouting at my ipad. This book is fantastic and I will definitely be re-reading it again soon. I fell in love with all the main characters and was not ready for it to be over when it ended.

I give this book a massive 5 stars!!
