BLURB:Music of the Heart
by Katie Ashley
For Abby Renard, the plan was supposed to be simple—join her brothers’ band on the last leg of their summer tour and decide if she’s finally ready for the limelight by becoming its fourth member. Of course, she never imagined stumbling onto the wrong tour bus at Rock Nation would accidentally land her in the bed of Jake Slater, the notorious womanizing lead singer of Runaway Train. When he mistakes her for one of his groupie’s, Abby quickly lets him know she sure as hell isn't in his bed on purpose.
Jake Slater never imagined the angel who fell into his bed would resist his charms by promptly kneeing him in the balls. Of course, the fact she seems like a prissy choir girl makes her anything but his type. So he is more than surprised when after betting Abby she wouldn't last a week on their tour bus, she is more than willing to prove him wrong. But as Jake’s personal life begins to implode around him, he finds an unlikely ally in Abby. He’s never met a woman he can talk to, joke with, or most importantly make music with.
As the week starts comes to a close, neither Abby nor Jake is ready to let go. Can a sweetheart Country songstress and a bad boy of Rock N Roll actually have a future together?
Holy $hit! I have to tell you, I have an obsession with Rock Star books and Music of the Heart has become on of my favourite Rock Star books! Katie Ashley does it again. Music of the Heart is my favourite read from Katie!
I've been taken on a roller coaster ride from start to finish. I wouldn't mind getting stuck on Runaway Train's tour bus if I'd get stuck with the holy hotness of Jake, AJ, Rhys and Brayden. Each of them are Yumtastic in their own rights!
Jake, WOW. He can be a bit of a douche but which Rock Star isn't? He has a lot of heart, is Belly laughing funny, Hot as Sin and full of emotions. Jake is battling his emotions from the start with a swift knee to the nuts! When he gets some devastating news he handles it all wrong to start with but soon realises Abby is like his glue. She holds him together. AJ the Latin Lover and Rhys. HOT, caring and funny. Then we have Brayden. He's the heart of the band. He's like daddy bear. A true gentleman who is a family man.
Abby is a strong character with a 'don't mess with me' attitude that is caring, loving, sexy and has the voice to make it big. Abby is meant to go on tour with her brothers band, Jacob's Ladder but a distracted roadie leads her to the wrong bus. By the time she realises, they're already on the move to Runaway Trains next stop, Jake has had a knee to his balls, Abby has passed out, Admitted she's still a virgin in front of all the band and all of this happens in the first few chapters!! A challenge is set but I don't think anyone realises just how that challenge will change the life's of all of them. Jake sets a challenge, Abby accepts.
I was pulled into the book from page one right to the very end. I've laughed, cried... well sobbed, felt love and also felt hate. It's not all sunshine and lollipops, There is some real heartfelt hardships in there. This just all adds to the amazingness of the book. The books flows brilliantly and the switch from her POV to his POV makes it easier to still like and love him, even when he's being an ass!
I love a good book that makes me laugh so hard that tears come streaming and I got that with Music of the Heart. I also got tears streaming for pure heartache.
Although Abby and Jake are the main characters of Music of the Heart, each character is big enough to want more. I can't wait to read the rest of the boys books.
Island Lovelies give this book 5/5 stars!
