Title: AROUSE (Spiral of Bliss #1)

Author: Nina Lane

Genre: Contemporary Romance with a very sexy married couple.

Publication Date: January 2, 2013

 Book Description

"One day I'm going to touch you in a thousand different ways and show you how to touch me," he said.

And he did.

Struggling with a tormented past, undergraduate Olivia Winter once led a practical but isolated life. Then she met Professor Dean West, a brilliant scholar of medieval history who melted Liv's inhibitions and taught her the meaning of both love and erotic pleasure. But after three years of a blissful, lusty marriage, Liv and Dean now face a crisis that threatens everything they believe about each other...and sex might not be enough to save them.

Alicia's review:

This book is fantastic. It unusual to have a book start with the couple already happy and married but I think that's why I liked it so much. You can really relate to the problems that happen during a marriage plus you get to look back to how they met and how they got together.

Dean West is a professor in Medieval History and meets Liv, a student but NOT his student, on campus. They have an instant attraction together although Liv never trusts men from past experiences with her mothers ex's.

The book starts with Dean and Liv having been together for five years, married three, and they are still blissfully happy. Liv has just lost her job and decides it's time for her to do something for herself. She gets a new job and joins a cooking class. This is where their marital problems start. I don't want to give anything away in this book so that's as much as I'm going to tell you about the story!

This book is hot and I'm talking scorching! You may just need the fire department on speed dial to read this book as you will start burning up. Make sure you have a spare pair of panties available as the sex scene's may just make you sweat.

I found it difficult at time to connect emotionally with Liv as I felt she took things overboard on occasions but I suppose until you've been in a position like her character has, you'll never know how you'd react to certain situations. I felt a bit like she didn't have as much love for Dean as he had for her but other parts you could feel their love jumping out the pages.

Dean is an absolute sweetheart. I feel in love with him and could feel his heart in my hearts everytime he spoke to, spoke about or looked at Liv. He just melted my heart!
“I don’t want you to walk away,” I said.
“Good.” The lines between his eyes eased with relief.
I gripped his wrists, a knot of fear binding my throat.
“But you… you might want to go,” I warned.
Darkness flashed in his expression. “Why?”
My eyes stung. I swallowed hard. “Here be monsters,” I whispered.
A heartbeat of silence, brewing with danger, filled the space between us. Then Dean tightened his hold on me and, with his thumbs, brushed away the tears that spilled down
my cheeks. “Liv,” he said, his voice rough with tenderness, “you don’t have to be afraid.”
“Why not?”
“Because I’ll slay monsters for you.”
They share a best friend called Kelsey who works with Dean. She is a great character that adds a whole lot of laughs to the book. One of my favourite parts involving Kelsey was a conversation between Kelsey and Liv. Liv asks her if she's ever been with Dean. Kelsey tells her no, she was into girls in college. Her experimental phase that lasted two years. Liv asks her what made her go back to guys...
"Oh, a couple of studs my senior year, then a long-term boyfriend in grad school." Kelsey flips her hair away from her face and reaches for her wineglass. "Great guy, smart as hell. Great sex too. Made me realize I preferred hard muscles and harder dicks."
Lol. She is a great addition to the book. The book will make you laugh out loud and cry. you'll feel love and hate but also feel compassion. There is three parts in this book. The first two parts are in Liv POV then the third part is both POV's. I loved that I got to see into Deans mind and it just proved to me that all the love I felt he had for Liv was true.

Favourite quote:
“You're so damn strong, Liv, and you don’t even realize it. I'm the one who’s always had to show people I'm successful, an achiever, the best at everything I did. I'm the one who’s always been a goddamn egotist. A groveler. And you… you're the first person who’s ever… Christ, Liv, sometimes the way you look at me makes me feel like I can hang the fucking moon.”
I give this book 4.5 STARS!!

Sandra Marton's Wilde Family Saga.

First I want to let you all know these books are HOT! Hot like you'll need some protective gloves on so you don't burn your hands on your reading device. There is some hot scenes against doors and cars. There is also some stunningly beautiful love scenes that melt your heart!

THE PRINCE OF PLEASURE is a an incredibly exciting, super-sexy, wonderfully romantic, BRAND NEW novel from USA Today Bestselling Author, Sandra Marton! It's also the prequel to Sandra's new WILDE FAMILY SAGA.

His Royal Highness, Sheikh Khan bin Zain al Hassad, Crown Prince of Altara, Defender of its Ancient and Honorable Throne, Protector of His People, and Leopard of the Finarian Hills, is a man who holds life and death power in his hands. The blood of kings and warriors runs in his veins, but when he meets American attorney Laurel Cruz, Khan forgets all his titles and becomes, instead, a man burning with passion for a woman whose traditions are nothing like his own. Laurel insists she wants nothing to do with him. She's a modern woman and she's convinced Khan is the kind of arrogant, powerful man she's fought against all her life--but when he takes her in his arms, she forgets everything except how much she wants him.
THE PRINCE OF PLEASURE will make you laugh as well as cry. It will stir all your emotions as Laurel and Khan take us on an unforgettable journey of the heart.

Alicia's opinion.
The Prince of Pleasure is book 1 to this series as it introduces you to the Wilde brothers, Jacob, Caleb and Travis - well it's a prequel to the series lol. This book is based on Khan and Laurel. Laurel hates males who think they are above females in the world, you know, she thinks all men think a womans place is at home cooking, cleaning and just looking after her partner. She instantly categorises Khan upon meeting him. She acts horrible to him but he feels instant attraction. Khan doesn't back down from her and they end up having a mind blowing passionate kiss. Laurel can't get this out of her head and neither can Khan. I don't want to give anything away in these books so I'm just going to say this is a super read!! I would highly recommend this book!! It keeps you wanting more of the story. I just couldn't put it down. Khan is an intense Prince but so sweet and lovable. This book is beautifully written and is breath taking! I laughed so hard I've got belly ache, cried, well sobbed at some parts, gasped with joy and could feel the emotional connection between Khan and Laurel.  Enjoy this book... I sure did. I mean, who doesn't love a sexy hot Sheikh?

Beautifully written love scene. My favourite so I had to share :)

The White Bedroom— that was how Laurel thought of it— was destined to be their oasis, their very private retreat from the world. They went straight   to it, Khan's arm curved tightly, possessively around her waist. He undressed her slowly, so slowly that she was moaning with need before he'd finished. He made love to her the same way. Slowly. Oh, so slowly. With his mouth. His hands. His body. Her caressed her nipples, tasted them, tasted the hidden bud that bloomed behind the dark curls of her womanhood. Her cries almost undid him, and when she said, "My turn," and pushed him back against the pillows of the big, king-sized bed, he faced his own version of torment as she kissed her way down his body, kissed the tip of his engorged penis, took him into the honeyed sweetness of her mouth. "No more," he growled, when he felt himself on the knife-edge of reason. In one quick motion he rolled her beneath him, knelt between her thighs, and thrust home. They came together, she sobbing his name, he groaning hers. He held her for a long time, kissing her hair, her mouth.

Jacob Wilde lived a fast and furious life of reckless abandon…until his wild streak put a cruel end to a life spent in pursuit of pleasure… The Texan ranching grapevine is legendary, so Addison McDowell has heard all about Jake Wilde’s shameless past – and his scarred, solitary present. But her only focus is her future – which won’t include the impossibly arrogant Jacob Wilde! Addison is no Texan wallflower – when Jake starts a fight, she’s more than capable of finishing it! However, a searing attraction to a man she knows cannot love her back? That she has no idea how to handle…   The Wilde Brothers Wilde by name, unashamedly wild by nature!

Alicia's opinion.
Jacob is HOT! He is also a broken man. When he meets Addison at a welcome home party in his honour, Jacob starts a fight with Addison. He's arrogant and doesn't like the way she looks at him. They share a chemistry that is melt your panties hot!
When Jacob chases Addison down to apologise for his behaviour the funniest thing happens... not going to spoil it, you're going to have to read it to know but I had tears streaming with laughter! They end up having some steamy moments together and some beautiful boning time but Jacob doesn't believe he's man enough for her so pushes her away. They both see love and beauty inside and outside each other but Jacob won't accept it. This book pulls on the heart strings and makes you swoon.

Caleb Wilde, infamous attorney, has a merciless streak and a razor-sharp mind… Years of relentless work have hardened Caleb’s heart – until one New York night changes everything. Now he’s haunted by the memory of tangled sheets, unrivalled passion and one woman – Sage Dalton. The siren of his dreams is, in reality, the woman who played him for a fool – but still nothing can satiate his burning desire for her. So when he learns that Sage has something very precious that belongs to him, a gift from their one night, Caleb will stop at nothing to claim it!

Alicia's opinion.
Caleb and Sage share a night of passion that neither of them can get our their heads. Caleb is a hero to Sage and they hit it off right away only for it to end so soon. Caleb about loses his mind in the time they're separated but when circumstances brings them together again it's for a reason Caleb would NEVER imagine but turns out to be exactly what he needs.
Caleb is an attorney who is hired to go against Sage on a case. When Caleb realises he is going up against Sage on something incorrect he decides to help her. Lovely story, beautifully written and swoon worthy! The books in this series just continue to be amazing. I love all of them. Sandra does it again with the third book to The Wilde series.

The wild before the storm Travis Wilde doesn’t do love or commitment – but he’d never turn down a willing woman and a king-sized bed! Normally innocence like Jennie Cooper’s would have the same effect as a cold shower, yet her determination and mouth-watering curves have him burning up all over! The clock is ticking and, forced to confront her life, Jennie is determined to cross some major things off her to-do list. Some might be risky – like taking on the renowned Travis Wilde – but Jennie has nothing to lose except the one thing she thought was untouchable…her heart.

Emma's opinion.
This is the 4th book in the Wilde brothers series and boy, was Travis worth the wait!!
Travis Wilde is the last of his brothers who has not fallen in love, and he doesn't plan to. But then Jennie walks into his life. She is brash and sassy and Travis doesn't really know how to deal with her!
This was a fun, very sexy and also touching book. It brought me to tears on a few occasions.
This book (and the entire Wilde Brothers series) is a must for both new and old fans of Sandra Marton!

Emily Wilde has led a privileged life. Now she’s trying to make it on her own in Manhattan.
Marco Santini grew up dirt poor in a Sicilian slum. Now he has everything. He’s gorgeous. He’s rich. He’s powerful. And he has all the beautiful women a man could ask for.
Then, one rainy night, he sees a woman standing alone on a deserted New York street corner. Emily is clearly in need of help, but she’s not foolish enough to step into Marco’s chauffeured Mercedes. It takes a lot of convincing before she lets him take her to her apartment. He swears he’s not going to do anything he shouldn’t and he means it--but she’s in his arms before they can stop themselves.
Still, it’s only a kiss, just one kiss in a moment torn out of time. That’s what they both think.
But Fate has other plans, starting with an unexpected job offer and a business trip to Paris that explodes in a passion so hot it will change everything--everything but the web of lies that traps them both.

Emma's opinion.
I loved this book! Sandra Marton certainly delivered again with the continuing story of the Wilde Family.
Emily is the youngest of the siblings and always been told what to do, say & think by her father and her siblings. She has always had people doing things for her, whether she has wanted their help or not. Emily doesn't want help any longer and only wants to help herself so she leaves the family name behind in Texas and goes to NYC. After being fired from her dead-end job one rainy night, she meets Marco. He just wants to help her and be her knight in shining armour and she doesn't want it. Or does she!? Secrets may keep this fiery couple apart but their determination may see love win in the end. Both were beautifully written characters and it was wonderful to see the return of the rest of the Wilde family too.
Sweet, spicy and sexy, this book is a great afternoon read!!

Review of Moving Forward

Moving Forward (Timing Is Everything)

Jesika Reynolds’ heart was left broken one year ago when her husband died, leaving her and her son alone in this world. Slowly, she started putting the pieces back together of her life. Knowing that she may never open herself up to love again. That was until the day Derek came into the picture.

Why does this gorgeous stranger seem to care so much, so suddenly?

Can their newly sought love stand up against the secrets that life is unlocking to their pasts? Or can they decide together that moving forward and forgetting the past is the only option for them to find true happiness?

My Review

The book started with impact and had me bawling, it was so emotional. i loved the first meeting between Jesika and Derek and instantly the sparks flew.  i think because of the emotional start you were rooting for Jes and Derek from the beginning and the friendship between Jes and Malory was so lovely seeing how they cared for each other.  It was such a pleasant read had be crying and also laughing out loud.

Derek is HOT and the sex was smoking between him and Jesika, good job he is a fireman! and Seth oh man that guy is just Sex on legs lol.

My Ideas Of The Characters lol
L-R Derek, Seth, Jesika, Mallory

I only have one negative to this book and that is the interaction with the children, considering that Jaxon was her whole world after her husband died there wasn't one bit of dialogue between any of the adults and children,  which i thought was a shame because it would have added another level of emotion to the story which i think it needed to be 5*.

I still really enjoyed the book and I'm really looking forward to book two in the series, Mal and Seth's story i cant wait to see where that goes. overall this book is great and I'm sure you will all enjoy it as much as i did

I give this book 4* out of 5,  i think if the author ups the emotion in book 2, which i feel will let the readers connect more with the main characters on a whole.

Review of 'Waiting on Forever'

'Waiting on Forever'
By Ashley Wilcox

About the Book

Parties, sororities and getting drunk.
Oh, yeah. And learning.

This may be true for most college students, but not for Leah Bennett.  College life for her includes studying, working, and excelling in school.  When it comes to the social ladder, Leah is at the bottom.  Popular girls, hot guys and star athletes are of no importance to her, except for one.

Matthew Jacobs.

Matt is the starting wide receiver at SUNY Cortland, the most wanted guy on campus and Leah’s best friend.  Although Leah’s feelings toward Matt run deeper than just a friendship, it is something she would never let be heard because the odds of someone like Matthew Jacobs going for someone like Leah Bennett are slim to none.

When Matt starts showing an interest in Leah that goes beyond friendship, she is dumbfounded and doesn’t believe it is possible – until one weekend that changes everything.

Will Matt and Leah’s popularity status get in the way of having a chance at a real relationship?
Or does status mean nothing when it comes to true love?

Emma’s Review of ‘Waiting on Forever’

I wasn’t too sure about this book as I don’t usually read the Young Adult genre.

The book was interesting from the beginning as the prologue (and also the epilogue) were from Matt’s POV, while the body of the story was from Leah’s. It worked really well as you knew what Matt was thinking and feeling at the start and end of their journey!

Matt & Leah meet at their college orientation. Matt’s a Phys. Ed major and on the college football team while Leah is majoring in Photography. So the gorgeous jock meets the shy and nerdy art girl.

She is nervous around him and tries to brush him off. Matt is a gentleman and likes that she might be a challenge rather than easy get, which tends to happen when girls find out he plays football. They chat over the internet for a few months until he is transferred into one of her classes. This is where the online friendship ends & a deeper relationship begins.

It is hard for her to realise and accept that he doesn’t want just friendship as guys have never been interested in her. She is feeling new emotions about Matt that she has never had to entertain. She also doesn’t realise that he is thinking similar things. Matt has wanted her from the start but thinks that she is so witty and smart that why would she even be interested in the ‘jock’. They both feel their way through their new relationship with the ups and downs of college life to keep them on their toes.

Overall, this story is a sweet, touching and romantic read. It is a learning journey for the characters about life after high school and first love. It will make you laugh and even shed a tear or two.

If you like a love story with a Happily Ever After, you will enjoy ‘Waiting on Forever’. «««« ½

About the Author

Some may consider me a jack of all trades, but I consider myself well rounded.

I’ve waitressed, styled hair, answered phones and, most recently, worked full time as mom to my two beautiful little boys.

Then there was this book… Everyone and their brother started talking about this book series titled Fifty Shades of Grey by EL James.  I didn’t really pay attention to the craze at first, since I wasn’t a big reader- okay, I didn’t read at all.  But curiosity got the best of me, so I downloaded it to my kindle.

I was immediately hooked. I read the whole series in three days.  Yes, three books in three days.

I kept finding all these great books that I HAD to read (just ask my credit card!).

Then I started hearing voices. Voices that turned into stories; stories that were begging to get out of my head.

I started writing them down on scraps of paper. Then I transferred them to my computer. Before I knew it, Planning on Forever was born.

The voices in my head are still talking, so I’m still writing.

BLOG TOUR Lethal Obsession by Shandra Miller

**BLOG TOUR** Review of Lethal Obsession by Shandra Miller
About the Book

Angela Martin is like everyone else. She wants acceptance. Love. Passion.

For five years she’s lived with the pain of knowing her husband cheats on her. She’s dealt with the heart-rending rejection by rebuilding her life around her work, becoming the first woman detective in the history of the Moose Creek, N.C., police department.

Then she stumbles upon him. A man who reawakens desire, who makes her feel more alive than she believed possible by pulling her into a world of bondage and dominance, devotion and trust taken to a new level, fear mingling with desire, a craving stronger than any drug.

Soon women start turning up dead in Moose Creek, bound and tortured, tied in ways that Angela finds startling familiar. Angela’s heart tells her that her newfound love cannot be the killer, her detective instincts tell her otherwise, and her obsession with this new lifestyle draws her back to him, even at the risk of her life.

LETHAL OBSESSION is a tale of sex and bondage, love and fear, desire and suspicion, with an ending that will leave you breathless, craving more.
Natalie's Review
I was really looking forward to reading this book as the synopsis sounded quite interesting, and when i started to read the first couple of pages i was really keen to see where the story went,  on the outside Angela was a confident police officer who was very respected by her colleagues and friends,  however she hid a secret,  her marriage is a sham and she has just embarked on a steamy affair with a man she has never seen, However things soon turn wrong when after she leaves this man she is called to a murder scene and too her horror the victims are found in the exact same sexual position that she had just encountered leaving her to wonder if the man she had met could be a killer.

The sexual tension between the two characters was high, the sex was hot and story was good, although i felt a little rushed,  i wish it had been developed a bit more because it was quite hard to connect with Angela and i thought that it could have been paced a little slower,  what i think this book needed was the male characters point of view,  i think that would have been great,, and would have made the ending so much more climatic.

This book is quite a quick read and if your into BDSM you will love it, at first i wasn't sure if i liked the book but i have realised that i actually did, what i didn't like was the ending, it left you hanging and i felt like a LOT of questions were left unanswered.

I would give this book 3.5* i hope there is a second book just so i can get over that hanger of a ending

Thanks Lovelies

Emma’s Review of “Kill Shot”

Liliana Hart’s new book, ‘Kill Shot’, had me hooked from the first chapter and by the time I had finished it, I could not stop thinking about it (even dreaming about the characters one night!) This book was like an action/suspense movie mashed up with a romantic drama! It had it all!

Grace Meredith is an ex-CIA agent. She is smart, stubborn and tough. She is also a shell of her former self. Having had the things taken from her that she most cares about in the world, she hires herself out as a mercenary to get to the people who too her life away. She doesn’t want to look back at the past but she needs the closure from it to move forward. But then the past sneaks up behind her while she is on a job and it’s none other than her ex-husband, Gabe Brennan.

Gabe was a top black ops agent in the CIA and seems to have the weight of the world on his shoulders. After having his life turned upside down too, this strong and confident Alpha male, has started his own private sector agency ‘The Collective’ and he wants Grace to join him and his band of equally talented (and sexy) men! Under Gabe’s tough exterior is a sweet and sensitive side and he is hoping that he can help his ex-wife and if he’s lucky, win her back.

While trying to stop the people who are after them, Gabe and Grace struggle to work through the issues from their past. This makes for some hot and steamy scenes!! Feelings that had been deeply buried for so long have been reignited and both have to search their hearts and work together to resolve their future.

Liliana was able to show the emotions and sensitivity of love lost, anger and betrayal without it being overly corny. Grace and Gabe’s personalities complemented one another and they were well rounded characters. The story kept you thinking and was well paced. It had me giggling in parts and blotting my tears in others. Who needs movies when a books author can give you all you need with the help of your imagination.

Q & A with Liliana Hart

Q - If you could work with another author, who would it be?
A - Lee Child. He's such a great writer, and I love the Jack Reacher series. I think we could team up and write a great story that would appeal to his thriller readers and my romance readers.

Q - Who is your favourite author and is your writing style similar to theirs?
A - My favorite author is Diana Gabaldon, and I only wish I could write like her. She knows how to craft a story with such detail, so every word on the page is integral to the scene. She has an amazing gift.

Q - What is your favourite part of the book (Kill Shot)?
A - My favorite scene is where Grace and Gabe are sparring with each other in the gym. I love the sexual tension that crackles between them, but at the same time you really get a good first glimpse at how vulnerable Grace is. At the same time we really get to see how the two years they've spent apart has changed them and how Gabe is struggling with the best way to help his wife.

Q - When naming your characters, do you give any thought to the actual meaning?
A - Not really. When a character pops into my brain, they usually come with a name attached. The only time I've ever researched the meaning of names is with my Urban Fantasy, BREATH OF FIRE. And that's because there's so much legend and lore involved in the dragon race that I wanted the names to reflect the abilities of my characters.

Q - Who are your target readers?
A - Everyone! I have a great mix of readers from all age groups. I have both male and female readers, and readers of all shapes, sizes, and color. I think that's the great thing about romance--love and hope are a universal language.

Q - What are the major themes of your work?
A - Family is always a big theme in all of my books. That no matter what happens or the mistakes you make, your family will be there no matter what. I also use betrayal a lot in my books because it really gives my hero/heroine something they have to work through and get past before they can have a happily-ever-after. I really like using an H/h that already have a bit of a past because I can really move the story forward because they already know each other.

Q - Any recent works that you admire?
A - I recently read Jasinda Wilder's FALLING INTO YOU, and any book that can make me cry means the person who wrote it has a real talent. I'm not a cryer.

Q - What do you think people search for in a book?
A - As a reader, I'm always looking for great characters. It's their chemistry and their journey that are going to make me keep reading and keep me invested. That's what I try to bring to my own readers.

Q - How have your personal experiences affected your writing?
A - I don't really use emotional personal experiences in my books because I don't want to open a lot of those wounds. I do use personal funny stories from family and friends when I write my Addison Holmes books though. I will say that my last two MacKenzie books, SINS AND SCARLET LACE and SECRETS AND SATIN, were the hardest books I've ever had to write because my dad had been diagnosed with cancer and was going through treatment while I was writing these books. It was a struggle to sit down and get words on the page every day, and I do think both of those books are much more emotional that my other books.

Q - What genre of books do you like to read? Do you limit yourself to only the genre that
you write yourself?
A - I will read absolutely anything, including cereal boxes and obituaries. I love to read, so if the story is good I could care less what the genre is. I read a lot of historical romances, thrillers, urban fantasy, romantic suspense, comedy, epic fantasy...pretty much everything.

Q - Were you always good at writing?
A - I would say instead that I've always written, even when I was a small child. I think you get better at the craft the more you do something. I know the books I write today are better than the ones I wrote 10 years ago, and the books I write 10 years from now will be better than the books I write today. At least I hope.

Q - How do you get started with writing a story? (as in, how do you start developing the
story, how do you get inspired for it?)
A - A major scene or a character will just pop into my head and I go from there. It happens all the time, so I have a notepad filled with future story ideas or characters. Once I sit down to start writing it I just let it happen. I'm not a plotter, so every day at the keyboard is a new adventure. I'm always just as surprised as my readers.

Q - What advice would you give people who run “out of creativity” when writing?
A - I'd say mix things up. Read newspaper headlines, watch TV, read a book outside your genre, spend a few days going out and watching people. Ideas come from everywhere. I honestly don't believe writers run out of creativity or ideas. Sometimes you get tired or overworked or burned out, but that just means you need to take a break. The ideas will come back once you're rested.
